Karlsruhe International School on Fusion Technologies
Fusion research is entering a decisive decade. Driven by scientific progress, growing industrial engagement, and rising global expectations, fusion is experiencing unprecedented momentum. Against this backdrop, the Karlsruhe International School on Fusion Technologies offers a unique opportunity to engage with fusion at the moment when it is moving from visionary science toward real-world impact.
Since 2007, the Summer School has brought together early-career researchers from around the world at KIT, combining lectures by leading scientists from KIT and international partner institutions with direct exposure to fusion-relevant technologies. A distinctive feature of the program are guided visits to KIT's exceptional large-scale technology laboratories providing rare insights into the facilities that underpin fusion research and technology development.
The next Fusion Summer School is currently in preparation and will take place in autumn 2026 in Karlsruhe - a vibrant and welcoming city known as a city of science, sports, and arts, offering an inspiring environment for learning, exchange, and networking.
Program details are expected to be finalized by the end of March. We kindly ask for your patience and look forward to welcoming the next generation of fusion scientists to Karlsruhe at this exciting moment for the field.
